Massachusetts edged out Minnesota as the best state to raise a family, according to a study conducted by WalletHub.
The personal finance website looked at five key categories — family fun, health and safety, education and child care, affordability, and socioeconomics — using 42 metrics. Three New England states cracked the top 10:
Connecticut just missed at No. 11, while Maine ranked 17th and Rhode Island came in at 22.
The states named the least family-friendly were (in order): Nevada (41th), Georgia, Arkansas, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Louisiana, West Virginia, Alabama, Mississippi, and New Mexico (50th).
